Sweepstakes EV Math
Expected Value Formula
EV = (Prize Value / Number of Entries) − Cost per Entry. If EV is positive and the time investment is minimal, it's worth entering.
Hourly Rate Calculation
If an entry takes 5 minutes and the EV is $0.10, your hourly rate is $1.20/hour — probably not worth it. But if EV is $2.00 per entry, that's $24/hour. Focus on high-EV contests.
Volume Strategy
Enter many contests with positive EV. Over thousands of entries, the law of large numbers ensures you'll converge toward the expected value. It's the same principle as sports betting.
